"Bon Accord".
Report upon the proposed Clock Tower to the Flake Pier
Hongkong.
April, 1901,

Hongkong
I have the honour to submit the following
Drawings for your consideration:-
Drawing No. 1. General Plans,
2. Elevation to Connaught Road.
3. Side Elevation of Tower and roof over Pier,
4. Section of ditto and ditto.
5. Detail of Base.
6. Detail of upper portion of Tower.
7. Plan shewing drains, and the portion of Pier to be covered with roof.
I propose to construct the Tower externally with granite.
I would point out now that the present height of Queen's Buildings is about 120 feet to top of dome and with the finial added the height equals about 180 feet.
The new block of buildings at the junction of Des Voeux and ... Roads will be about 150 feet to the top of finial.
The entrance for Europeans from Connaught Road is through a Vestibule which leads into a Circular General Waiting Hall 25 feet in diameter, faced with granite and covered by means of a dome.
I consider it advisable to provide niches in the wall for the purpose of placing figures in at a later date, should circumstances suggest such additions to an ornamental design.
Ladies Rooms,
I propose to form the floor with tiles laid.
On the East side of General Hall access is gained to the Ladies Waiting Room 23'-0"x 17'-6", and from this room to the Ladies Lavatory, the dimensions of which are 19'-0"x 10'-9".
The Lavatory is fitted with basins, dressing table storey for the toilet. Leading from the Lavatory are two Water Closets each 5'-8" x 3'-6".
The walls to Lavatory and W.Cs. I propose to face with white glazed bricks and to form the floor with tiles.
If desired a Lantern light can be formed in the roof over Lavatory which would thus be given additional light and ventilation.
The Waiting Room floor I propose to form with hardwood blocks bedded on concrete.
Gentlemen's Rooms,
On the West side of General Hall access is gained to the Gentlemen's Waiting Room 23'-0" x 17'-6" (the floor of which
